The first round started off with bang as ZenPayroll and Optimizely slugged out a close 3 set match. Ultimately, the boys from Zen kept their cool and survived the long tiebreaker. Team Oracle and Dropbox fought a hotly contested battle and the boys in red made Larry Ellison proud but came up short. In an upset, CEO Alex Solomon led PagerDuty to strong victory over Gainsight.
The Sweet 16 featured the battle for cloud storage supremacy as Box faced off against rival DropBox. Box's high burn rate caught up with them as DropBox had the energy to pull this one out late. The other key matchup in the second round was Inkling surging past LeadGenius.
The Elite 8 featured a strong showing from the hosts as Cinderella story Acceleprise blew out FuzeBox and Pivotal Labs rallied the home crowd to defeat Inkling.
In the Final 4, midnight struck for Cinderella as Team Lithium steamrolled into the finals in straight sets. In the other semifinal, Pivotal Labs edged out ZenPayroll in a close match.
The finals featured home team Pivotal Labs cruising to a 1st set win. Lithium stormed back and grabbed the momentum by sweeping the 2nd and 3rd sets. With the crowd cheering on every point, Pivotal Labs rode the home field advantage to decisive wins in the 4th and 5th sets. Congratulations to Pivotal on winning the title!
